As a Section Supervisor dedicated to the Section Manager you will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance and inspection delivery at London Bridge Delivery Unit (DU), enabling the DU to achieve it’s key objectives. In this role you will be required to work closely with the Engineers and on track teams therefore relationship building is a key quality needed. You will be required to undertake critical inspections and also supervise maintenance delivery at one of the busiest and most complex areas of our network.

To deliver in this role the candidate will need to be able to demonstrate they are a team player who is able to collaborate effectively with others, be willing to learn and get stuck in to all tasks, be self-motivated and able to multi-task due to the fast paced nature of the role and it’s requirements.

About the role

  
 Assisting the Infrastructure Maintenance Section Manager with the inspection, maintenance and renewal of assets, you’ll oversee the delivery of work and help with the management of your team. This is an excellent opportunity to use all of your specialist knowledge whilst developing valuable leadership skills to grow your career. It's also an extremely dynamic role. We will look to you to:
  • Undertake inspections
  • Prepare work and resource specifications
  • Craft method statements.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information, keeping a range of systems, databases and records fully up to date
  • Checking the quality of work and compliance of our assets; you’ll also enjoy the scope to identify and propose asset renewal work.
As well as improving your own skills, you’ll help others with their development. Crucially, you will nurture the highest standards of safety in every aspect of your team’s work.
Do you have…?
  • A track record in rail engineering
  • Detailed knowledge of track engineering disciplines
  • Experience of directing and supervising worksites
  • Knowledge of processes for planning and organising work and resources
  • Understanding and experience of permanent way inspection and techniques for maintenance, renewal and asset condition assessment
  • Awareness of techniques for controlling cost and waste
